How do I get the deal?
Simply click “GET IT” before time runs out on the stopwatch at midnight PST. There is a minimum number of people who need to buy the deal in order for it to become available. Once the deal meets the minimum number of sales, you've got it! We'll charge your card and deliver the deal to your email and “My Spott” account where it is redeemable via your handheld device or by printing it out on paper old school.
What if there aren't enough people to purchase the deal?
If the deal doesn’t meet the minimum number of purchases, don’t worry, you will not be charged and the deal is cancelled. We cannot compensate for the tears and tantrums you will throw for not getting the deal, so be sure you invite your friends to guarantee your happiness.
When do I get my coupon?
Your coupon will wondrously appear in your email and “My Spott” account 24 hours after the deal closes. The deal will close once the timer runs out and the minimum number of sales have been met. Log in to your “My Spott” account for more information.
How do I use the coupon?
Once the deal closes and you have been charged, you will receive an email from yours truly (The Spott team) with a coupon. Your coupon will also be accessible via “My Spott” on our website. You can either print the coupon or redeem electronically on your brightly lit handheld device to present to the merchant before the coupon's expiration date. Sorry, no cosmic forces can be used to show businesses that you have bought a Spott deal.
When can I use the deal?
You can generally use the deal 24 hours after you have been charged and after you've received an email with your coupon. Since there may be occasional special cases, please read the fine print on your coupon to determine whether you can use it immediately or if you will have to patiently wait just a teeny bit.
How does Spott really help the community?
We donate up to 50% of Spott's total proceeds from each deal to a local featured charity. The actual percentage is based on how many people have purchased the deal, so if there's suddenly a stampede to swipe cards for a deal, then we get to allocate a ridiculously large percentage of our funds to the charities. This is group-giving in all its glory.
Can the coupon be used by someone else?
You can give a coupon as a gift to anyone even if it has your name on it. Sharing is caring. All our coupons have been designed to work only once to give our merchants peace of mind without the need for a stone wall and wizard.
Can I combine coupons, use multiple coupons or partial ones?
No. Unless the merchants state otherwise.
Can I refund a coupon?
We want to make sure that you're satisfied, so if something in the deal occurs that was unforeseen by our in-house psychic, then let us know and we'll make it right.
What if the business closes down or it is impossible to redeem the deal?
We'll make sure you get your money back if a merchant has made it impossible to redeem your coupon.
Do the coupons ever expire?
Unlike Twinkies and cockroaches, every deal has an expiration date that can be found at the bottom of the coupon and the deal page. Even if the deal loses its promotional value, you can still redeem it at the price you originally paid as per stated by the gift certificate laws in your state.
How many people can I refer?
We encourage you to spread the word of Spott to as many souls as you can.
What if I receive multiple referral codes?
You can only pick one link and one friend to reward for introducing you to Spott. Now's the time to assess your list of who's been naughty or nice.
What is a referral?
You can send your friends to spott.com to purchase any deal. By clicking your referral link, they are brought directly to the deal page to make a purchase. After the deal meets the minimum number of sales and closes, you will be rewarded with a $10 credit in your account that can be put toward your next deal or donated to a charity of your choice. You can only refer people who do not currently have a membership with Spott.
What if I get referral invites, but I am already a member?
You can only make use of referrals if you are a new member, and you can only receive the $10 credit if you have referred a new member. Rome was not built in a day by the same five men, so reach out to the rest of your friends who have not yet experienced the magical world of Spott.
When can I expect new deals?
There is generally a new deal each day. If the current deal does not tickle your fancy, join us the next day for a new one.
How safe is Spott?
We do not keep your credit card information stored on our servers and everything is transmitted by SSL. This is the ancient technique of the Terracotta Warriors. To learn more, please read our privacy page.
